The Oregon Boating Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to boating safety and education throughout the Central Oregon Coast. Located in Newport, Oregon, our goal is to help people be safer on the water, expand their boating knowledge, and improve their seamanship skills.
We offer three formal instructional programs: Youth Kayaking Day Camps, Youth Sailing Day Camps and Basic Coastal Kayak Strokes and Rescues. In addition to our regularly scheduled classes, we can provide individualized instruction as well as classes for groups such as families, friends and organizations. All of our instructors are currently certified by the American Canoe Association or US Sailing. Classes emphasize learning through doing which includes instruction and demonstrations followed by practice with individualized coaching and feedback.
Our safety and education programs are made possible thanks to generous support from our partners, including grants from:
- Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund
- Trust Management Services
- Oregon State Marine Board
- Ford Foundation
- Yaquina Bay Yacht Club
We also rely on contributions from numerous individuals and businesses. Make a tax-deductible donation to support low-cost boating education programs on the Central Oregon Coast, or contact us to learn about volunteer opportunities.
