Intermediate Youth Kayak Camp
Our Youth Kayak Day Camps provide a safe and enjoyable Summer paddling experience! Designed for youths ages 10 to 18 years of age, participants will learn basic kayak strokes, rescues and related skills.
In our intermediate camp, after a fun week of learning to kayak participants will receive certificates of completion for the American Canoe Assocation's Essentials of Kayaking Touring class.
Camp meets from 9am until 4pm, Monday through Friday. This camp also includes an overnight camping trip to Elk City on Wednesday night, and we encourage parents to join us on that adventure.
This camp corresponds to the Level 2: Essentials of Kayak Touring class offered by the American Canoe Association. As a matter of safety, to be eligible for our camps participants must be able to tread water for 2 minutes, swim 50 yards (fully clothed) and put on a personal flotation device (life jacket) while in the water. During the camp participants will need to wear a well-fitted wetsuit or dry-suit and a Coast Guard approved life jacket with a whistle attached.
We will provide kayaks, paddles and related safety equipment for use during these camps. If you have any questions about our classes please contact us.
