About Us

The Oregon Boating Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to get you out on the water safely. We operate out of Newport – on the Oregon Coast – where we have access to some spectacular waterways.

Being on the water is a way of life in our community, and our goal is to ensure that safe, affordable boating opportunities are accessible to everyone.

Our focus on safety is what makes us unique, and our certified guides and instructors are constantly improving their training.

Our programs are designed to get you out on the water, and teach the skills you need to stay safe.

    Amazing opportunity!

We live in a small town, and I had no idea my children would be able to have experiences that people in larger cities dream of having. They have had knowledgeable and kind instructors. I have never worried about my children when they were in the care of OBF instructors. Thanks for this incredible opportunity!

    Incredible Program!

My son has not only learned skills to last him a lifetime but he has had fun doing it. He has made lasting friendships, developed confidence on the water and most importantly knows how to be safe. There is no better place to learn to sail or kayak and no better people to do it with!

I completed two sea kayak classes in 2017, and plan to attend another in 2018. I highly recommend the Oregon Boating Foundation, and my instructor Tom Murphy. You will be knowledgeable, confident, and competent when you're done.
